‘Gold’s Horseradish’ Who among us has not heard of or used Gold’s Horseradish? Marc Gold will present, virtually, some very interesting facts about this popular horseradish.
In 1932, in the depths of the Great Depression, Tillie and Hyman Gold created Gold’s Horseradish. Grandson Marc Gold— as co-owner of Gold’s,— has had appearances on The David Letterman Show, Jimmy Breslin’s People, ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN, The Food Network and numerous other spots. He is one of four third generation family members who built Gold’s into the number one horseradish in the country.
Marc will speak about the company’s creation and the expansion from horseradish and borscht to a full line of condiments, sauces, and mustards, including the building of Gold’s into the #1 Duck Sauce in the country. He will speak of his father, Morris Gold, and his uncles and the legacy they left. He will also speak of how Gold’s Mustard became “The Mustard of the NY Mets,” Barclays Center, Madison Square Garden, etc..
He will talk of the quality and consistency of Gold’s products that have enabled it to endure for 88 years. Finally, Marc will speak of the dynamics, joy and travails of a four generation family business, and the importance of advertising , promotion, and marketing.
